A firefly dies of living fifteen hours,
a toy house crumbles after two years' time;
on his bed of golden eggs and flattened flowers,
the fox sleeps soundly in his den of crime.
Self-serving, unswerving,
all-craving, feasting, saving,
feeds his brothers, eats his lovers,
Son of Mammon gets his scam on.
A seeker scribbles on a barren board
and turns his talent to a demon's toy
to heap more riches on the master's hoard,
and loves the other in the one's employ.

Son of Mammon gets his sham on.
He drives his warhorse at the needle's eye
revising heaven with his every breath
in self-made virtue; and with every lie
he pours oblation to the second death.
And Earth though full of those who know the way,
weeps in silence at her slow decay.
